About the Course

This course forms part of the Microsoft Power BI Analyst Professional Certificate. This Professional Certificate consists of a series of courses that offers a good starting point for a career in data analysis using Microsoft Power BI. In this course, you'll learn how to use Power BI to create and maintain relationships in a data model and form a model using multiple Schemas. You'll explore the basics of DAX, Power BI's expression language, and add calculations to your model to create elements and analysis in Power BI. You'll discover how to configure the model to support Power BI features for insightful visualizations, analysis, and optimization. After completing this course you'll be able to: ● Create and maintain relationships in a data model. ● Form a model using a Star Schema ● Write calculations DAX to create elements and analysis in Power BI ● Create calculated columns and measures in a model ● Perform useful time intelligence calculations in DAX ● Optimize performance in a Power BI model This is also a great way to prepare for the Microsoft PL-300 exam. By passing the PL-300 exam, you’ll earn the Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst certification....

I find the teaching style in this course to be quite monotonous. The instructors often present the material in a very robotic and less engaging manner, which makes it difficult for me to stay focused and fully absorb the content. I believe that incorporating more interactive and expressive teaching methods would significantly improve the learning experience and help students understand the concepts more effectively.

Unfortunately, the course was a messy frustrating experience. MANY typos and errors in all of the materials. Incorrect answers on some quizzes and exams. Data files not matching what the instructions ask you do it. Quizzes and exams that don't align with the material that was taught and many questions that were simply designed to trick you instead of to test your knowledge.

This program must improve a lot, too many errors in the files, it does not allow you to do some exercises. The worst thing is that I read the reviews, which don't improve the course. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Repetitive videos, incorrect files for most assessments and errors in questions of graded assignments. I wouldn't have completed this module if it weren't necessary for the overall certification.

Lot's of errors in the course. Wrong files. DAX part is very poorly explained. No exercises using DB connections, only excel. In real life most developers work with DBs.

Whoever designed the Module 3 graded assignment needs a raise! Never experienced tough questions one after another. I would probably crack NEET, JEE but not this one.

Too many topics into one module and all important topics which need to be done properly are put together in one course making it look stupid

This is all a mess, it is just a guy reading the lectures, some of the exercises had mistakes and inconsistencies and borring.

So, I just survived the “Optimize your model for performance in Power BI” bootcamp. My brain is still doing cross-filter directions in its sleep. Here’s my takeaway: Why optimize a data model? Because apparently, Power BI doesn’t appreciate when you dump a gazillion rows on it and expect it to run smooth like Netflix on WiFi. You want speed, less lag, and no frozen dashboards that make your boss stare at you like “seriously?” DirectQuery vs Standard models: Think of it like ordering pizza. With Standard (Import), you bring the pizza home, slice it, and it’s always there when you need it. With DirectQuery, you’re calling Domino’s every time you want a bite—faster in some ways, but if the network’s down, you’re eating sadness. Aggregations: AKA Power BI’s cheat code. Instead of dragging all the messy data into a report, you give it a neat little summary and say “Here, just work with this.” It’s like sending the CliffsNotes instead of the entire novel. Honestly, I learned that optimization is basically just adulting for data models: keeping things clean, efficient, and ready to impress without crashing under pressure. Now, my question to you all: If Power BI were a superhero, would it be Flash (speed) or Hulk (power)? Or maybe just Batman with too many gadgets (features)?

I found the Power BI course to be extremely valuable in expanding my skills and knowledge in data modelling, DAX, and optimization techniques. The materials provided were clear, well-structured, and hands-on, making complex topics like creating different data schemas and optimizing DirectQuery models more accessible. The DAX lessons were particularly helpful, and I appreciated the emphasis on performance optimization. Overall, the certification and resources offered were top-notch and have significantly enhanced my ability to use Power BI effectively for business decision-making. I would highly recommend this course to others.

It was a good course worth your time unlike the previous two of them(they were too long) but be aware most of the exercise files are different than they mention, i don't understand why don't they fix it although a lot of people reports the issues, anyway the explanations (readings and videos) are fine.

Really good content. Appropriate level of abstraction as well as good run through of practical application in the Microsoft Power BI environment. Plenty of data modeling tools and concepts covered and a good foundation for further investigation into DAX, PowerQuery and other features.

For a noob like myself, this course was no walk in the park, and I am nowhere near comfortable with writing DAX fluently, but this gives a solid foundation to start with, ask the right questions, and it introduced me to many new concepts that are important in the data analysis world.
