Yes. Simply enroll in any course and take as many as you like. No commitment is required. You can also enroll in the non-credit course on the Coursera platform and upgrade to the for-credit version at a later time by paying the associated tuition.

You will receive access to your own Student Portal when you register. You will then be able to access your University of London email account. You will also have access to two other key resources:

• The Coursera Platform. You will be able to access electronic copies of all study materials, resources (including audio-visual), and forums to discuss course material and work collaboratively with others.
• Academic support and feedback from London-based support teams. Tutors introduce the modules, respond to queries, monitor discussions, and provide guidance on assessments. You can use interactive study materials including videos, quizzes, and online games to test your own progress.

You can study at your own pace. This degree will take 24 - 60 months to complete.

You can choose how many modules to study in each session, up to a maximum of two new modules (or three, including resits and repeats). The time commitment varies student to student, but as a guide, you should allow 150 hours for each module.

This degree has 10 core modules and one project module.

You can take two new modules or courses at a time. You are also able to resit assessments and repeat modules that you have not yet passed, subject to the rules set out in the programme regulations.

Yes. When you successfully complete the programme, you will be invited to the University of London annual graduation ceremony in London, subject to any restrictions in place for events of this kind.

There is no direct transfer route, however, you are welcome to apply to Royal Holloway to study on campus.

Yes, many of the faculty who teach in the online programme are academics that teach on campus at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Applications for recognition of prior learning will be considered, on the basis of studies successfully completed at an appropriate level.

You need to demonstrate a good level of English to be admitted to our programmes. We accept a range of evidence, including proficiency test scores. If you don’t have evidence but believe you can meet the standard, we may consider your case. More information on the English language requirements can be found on the University of London website.

There is no need to know any programming languages beforehand. There are some technical elements of the curriculum, e.g. in the Software and application security module, but support and guidance will be given to ensure that students can handle these aspects of the degree.
